Website, content, or something else?

Let’s work out the best way forward.

You can come to me with a problem, a specific piece of work, or no idea what you need.

Not sure what you need?

Know what you want?

Ways I can help

“I'm loving working with Jacquie! Her ability to interpret my sometimes very briefest of briefs concisely and accurately have already shown a great ROI for my limited marketing budget and given me real bang for my buck!”

Website audit

Not sure why your website isn’t quite working? Let’s work out what’s going on.

I look at your website from the perspective of your business and the people you’re trying to reach - what’s working, what’s not, ggand what’s getting in the way.

Here’s what I’ll go through:

  • The customer experience
Is the site easy to navigate and understand? Do the journeys and calls to action make sense?

  • Your content
Is it clear what you do, who it’s for, and what you want people to know?

  • The practical things
Are there broken links? Is anything confusing or missing?

  • Trust signals
Are there things your customers need to see before they’ll feel confident choosing you?

  • Search
Are there technical and content basics that could affect how your site is found and understood?

Then I bring everything together in a clear report, explaining what I’ve found, why it matters, and what you could do about it.

You don’t need to understand SEO or website jargon. I’ll translate the technical stuff into clear, practical actions you can do something with.

You can use the report to make changes yourself, ask me to help with specific pieces of work, or simply understand what’s going on and decide what to do later.

The result? A clear understanding of what’s working on your website, what’s not, and what you can do next.

Website content & messaging

Clear website content that sounds like you.

You don’t have to work out how to say it. That’s my job.

I’ll get to know your business and your customers, then work out what the page needs to say.

Before I write, we’ll talk through what you offer, who you’re trying to reach, what makes you different, what you want to communicate, and what you want people to do next. I’ll ask the questions that help me understand what you already know inside out, so I can explain it clearly to someone who doesn’t.

I’ll then turn all of that into clear, useful website content that makes sense to your customers and sounds like you. Search is part of the thinking, but the customer comes first.
‍ ‍

You’ll get:

  • Finished website content, structured page by page

  • Suggested calls to action and other recommendations where helpful

  • Relevant search information where appropriate

  • Two opportunities to review and refine

The result? Content that makes sense to your customers and feels like it came from you.

Case studies

Show what you do through the people who’ve experienced it.

A good case study needs more than a list of questions and answers. I interview your customers, clients, tenants, or participants myself, listening for the details, experiences and stories that make your work worth talking about.

Before we start, we’ll talk about what you want the case study to achieve and what you need it to say about your business or project. I’ll prepare the interview questions and run them past you first, so we know we’re looking for the right story.

The person I’m interviewing gets to see the questions beforehand too, so they know what to expect. Then we have a proper conversation. I’ll follow the questions where they’re useful, but if something interesting comes up, we’ll explore it.

Afterwards, I turn that conversation in to a finished case study that tells a story rather than simply repeating what was said. The interviewee gets to see the draft version too, so they can check it’s accurate before anything is published.

You’ll get:

  • A prepared interview tailored to what you want the case study to achieve

  • An interview with the person involved, usually over Zoom

  • A finished, ready to use case study

  • An opportunity for the interviewee to check the finished story for accuracy

  • A case study you can use across your website, marketing, funding applications, sales and proposals.

You can commission a single case study or several - whether you need a few stories from a particular project or want a regular flow of customer stories for your website and marketing.

The result? A story people want to read, and a case study that shows what you do without sounding like a sales pitch.

Blog posts & content

Content that’s worth creating - and worth reading.

Not every business needs another generic blog post. But if there’s something your customers would genuinely find useful, interesting, or helpful, I can turn it into content that makes sense for your business too.

That might be a useful article, an event story, a guide, or something else that helps people understand what you do, what you know, or why your work matters.

Before I write, we’ll talk about the topic, who it’s for and what you want it to achieve. I’ll use that to find the right angle, then research and write the content in a conversational style that sounds like your business and gives people a reason to keep reading.

I understand how people search and how useful content needs to be structured for search, but I won’t let keywords dictate what gets written. Search is part of the thinking, but the customer comes first.

You’ll get:

  • Finished, ready to use content

  • Clear headings, structure, title, and meta description

  • Suggested calls to action and other recommendations where helpful

  • Relevant search information where appropriate

  • Internal linking suggestions where useful

You can come to me with an idea, a topic you know you need to cover, or we can work out what would be worth creating together.

The result? Content that sounds like your business, gives your customers something genuinely useful, and has a reason to be there.

Website changes & Squarespace

Practical website changes, with the thinking behind them.

Sometimes your website doesn’t need rebuilding. It just needs a little TLC - a few things have changed, something isn’t working as it should, or the website isn’t quite reflecting the business behind it.

I can make those changes for you, while keeping an eye on how they affect the rest of your website and the people using it. I’ll look at each change in context, not just make the change you asked for. If something doesn’t make sense for your business or your customers, we’ll talk first.

I work directly in Squarespace, so if that’s your platform I can make the changes myself rather than handing you a list of instructions.

That might be straightforward website updates, or it could be a bigger piece of work where several things need bringing together. And if you’re starting from scratch, I can build a simple five-page website for a service-based business too.

You’ll get:

  • Website changes made directly in Squarespace

  • Content updates and page restructuring

  • Navigation, calls to action, and customer journey improvements

  • URLs, redirects, broken links, and other website housekeeping

  • Relevant search and trust considerations

  • A simple, practical website if you’re starting from scratch

I’ll always tell you if something falls outside what I can do and, where appropriate, I can work alongside your existing web developer or recommend someone who can help.

The result? A website that works better for your business and the people using it, without rebuilding the whole thing unnecessarily.

Work I’ve done

A few examples of projects where content, people, and websites needed to work together.

Laptop displaying the logo for Portugal Green Walks

Self-guided cycling holidays in Portugal

I experienced the cycling trips first-hand, then created website content, supporting blog posts, and sections of the trip roadbooks to help customers choose and prepare for their holiday.

Laptop displaying the logo for The Business Village

A thriving business centre in Barnsley

I interview tenant businesses to create case studies showing what being part of the centre is really like, alongside event posts and useful blog content around business and sustainability.

Laptop displaying the logo for Haven Sheffield children's charity

A children’s charity putting people first

As the charity rebranded, I worked with the team to rethink how it communicated with the people it supported, making sure the website was clear, appropriate, and sensitive to their experiences.

Ready to work out what’s next?

Whether you know exactly what you need, have a website that’s bothering you but you can’t quite put your finger on why, or just have an idea you’d like to talk through, get in touch.

We’ll work out what would be useful - and whether I’m the right person to help.
